David Badcock (Treasurer)
David Badcock is the Head of Research and Development & BBVs for national drug and alcohol charity Addaction, and has been charged with the development and implementation of the organisation’s Blood Borne Virus strategy. David joined Addaction through the merger of his previous organisation Mainliners in June 2010, for whom he was the Chief Executive for four years.
David began his career by training as an accountant at Addenbrooke’s NHS Trust in 1994, where he studied for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Having spent 3 years working within the NHS, he then moved to the private sector with Johnson Matthey.
Suffering from a very early mid-career crisis, David then spent a ski-season in Chamonix in 2000/01 before returning to Cambridge, and took up his first appointment within the charitable sector at the Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum. As the Finance and Projects manager he helped develop the structure and new projects for this small organisation.
In 2005 David then moved to Mainliners in central London as the Director of Finance, he was tasked with restructuring the organisation due to a critical financial situation. Following the retirement of the Chief Executive Officer, he then progressed to this role in November 2006.
