Dr Magdalena Harris

Dr Magdalena Harris is a qualitative sociologist at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (University of London).

She conducts a programme of research, using life history and other qualitative methods, investigating the lived experience of HCV and its treatment in the UK. She is currently conducting qualitative longitudinal research investigating the hepatitis C treatment journey from patient, provider and system perspectives.

She has published widely on the social relations of hepatitis C, is a UK Hepatitis C Trust board member, editorial board member for the International Journal of Drug Policy and has provided invited ‘expert’ guidance on hepatitis C and harm reduction for institutions such as NICE and EMCDDA .
